Yes, this is the most common question we get asked. And if you’re wondering the same thing, you came to the right place. Practically everyone who’s looking for a wedding videographer, has to figure out their videography budget, but even more so, the value of a good wedding film. While I can’t say how valuable a wedding film should be to you, I can share our mindset when it comes to making one. And before I start throwing numbers at you, I figured i’ll elaborate a little bit on three components:
As I mentioned, one of the most common questions we receive is how much would it cost to film our wedding? And unfortunately there isn’t a straight answer because each wedding is different and requires a different approach. I can tell you right away what is our starting price and what’s included with it, but it won’t necessarily make sense if we don’t know what you’re looking for. Instead, we’d like to ask you a few questions about your wedding, understand your preferences and needs, and make a suggestion. At the end of the day, it all comes down to the time that we need, to film, edit, and deliver your movie. And while we do our best to deliver our movies as fast as possible, we do not cut corners and we take our time. Because a good movie takes time to edit. On average, we spend 30-40 hours sorting, editing, coloring, adjusting audio and delivering the final product.
We started in early 2006. The very first wedding I filmed was at the Clift Hotel in San Francisco and I charged $500. I can not thank that couple enough for trusting me to film their wedding, with practically no experience filming weddings. It was one of my most stressful experiences. I remember the photographer at that wedding tried to calm me down… that’s how nervous I was. And btw, he wasn’t very pleased with me… I mean, I was running around like crazy, trying to make sure I didn’t miss anything. The struggle was real.
Now, a decade later, our couples barely notice us at their weddings. We’re like ninjas. Also, we dress better and blend in nicely :)
We have the most amazing clients that hired us to film their weddings around the globe. We filmed in Italy, Uruguay, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Canada, Hawaii and many destinations around the US. When you choose to work with us, you’re essentially getting all of that experience that we gained over the years. You’re getting a piece of mind, that your wedding will be captured in the most creative, professional and most of all, _______ way.
And all of that brings us to the cost of our craft. Many couples told us that we are one of the most expensive studios in the Bay Area. We haven’t done a research, but I believe it to be true. But what we charge for our work should not be compared to other studios. There are many times in life when you absolutely should try and find the best possible deal, but I don’t think that should be the case when it comes to visual arts. Yes, you should definitely get value for your money, but first you have to determine the importance of wedding cinematography and what it means to you, and this will help you establish that value to you.
Now that you’re a bit familiar with how we establish the cost of our production, let me share some numbers.
We have a range of options, from a short weekday City Hall elopements starting at $895, to multi day events starting at $9000.
But the most popular requests we get are for a single day wedding, 8 hours of coverage, short highlights film and a longer edit.
We offer two options:
Option 1 - Principal Coverage - this options is for the wedding film enthusiasts - starting at $5500 for 8 hours, two cinematographers and a highlights film.
Option 2 - Studio Teams Coverage - as close as it gets to the real thing. All filming done by our team members, all editing done in house. Same exact coverage for $4000.
